Gaynor is a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and Group Analyst with over 30 years of experience across the NHS, education, mental health, and forensic sectors. Throughout her career, she has worked with adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups, while also holding senior clinical and management positions within the NHS. These roles have included CAMHS Service Development Manager, NHS England Case Manager, Principal Psychotherapist, and Senior Group Analyst within Oxford Psychological Services and Bristol forensic and personality disorder services.
She brings extensive experience in managing complex mental health difficulties, including assessment, risk management, psychotherapy, group work, and clinical supervision.
Gaynor offers a warm, thoughtful, and confidential space to explore emotional and relational difficulties, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relationship issues, loss, trauma, and significant life transitions. Using a psychoanalytic approach, she helps individuals gain deeper self-awareness and understand how past patterns influence their present lives. Options include both longer-term psychotherapy and shorter-term Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), as well as couples therapy focused on improving communication and understanding relationship dynamics.
Since transitioning to independent practice in 2020, Gaynor has combined her private psychotherapy practice with national supervision and consultancy roles. She works with HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) within the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway, providing supervision and consultation to senior clinical and operational staff. Additionally, she is an experienced trainer and supervisor, having delivered training nationally and internationally, including work with the Anna Freud Centre, medical professionals in Hong Kong, and other psychotherapy practitioners.
